Lisa Keegan is based in Celbridge, Co. Kildare and has been painting from her studio there for the last number of years. Her work has steadily gained in popularity in the Irish and overseas markets and can be found in a number of public and private collections.

Her subject matter is reminiscent of Pop Art, including everyday materials and products. Pop Art is a style of art which explores the everyday imagery that is so much a part of contemporary consumer culture. Lisa’s paintings often depict icons from popular culture. Her paintings concentrate on colour and form and much of her work consists of patterns of objects which are designed to draw the viewer in and flood the senses.

Inspired by renowned masters from the 1960s and '70s such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, modern-day Pop artists such as Lisa bring a sense of fun into art again. She is also influenced by artists Jasper Johns and Graham Knuttel, and by visiting art galleries around the world. Concerned mainly with form and colour, Keegan’s style is the product of developing her technique and choice of subject matter. She says: ‘I think art should be accessible to all and living spaces can be defined by art. I hope my paintings allow people to stamp their personality on their living and working spaces’.

“...a new crop of female artists are shaking up the stuffy art world with their unorthodox subjects, dazzling colours and creative brushwork” from Irish Daily Mail, July 2007 - article featuring Lisa Keegan
